You can use the Library's Journal & Ebook Locator to determine which full-text journals students and faculty can access through the Library. Let's use the journal Forensic Science, Medicine and Pathology for an example.
1. Go to the Library's homepage and look down the right side of the page for the list of Quick LInks. Click on the Journal & Ebook Locator link.
2. When the Journal & Ebook Locator opens, click in the Search field and type the name of the journal you're looking for. Press Enter or click the Magnifying Glass to search.
3. If your journal has full-text articles available, you'll see an entry like the one below. It is saying to you: Full-text articles from Forensic Science, Medicine and Pathology are available from March 2007 to the present, except the current year of full-text articles is not available, though their citations are present. Full-text issues are available in the online service MEDLINE Complete.
4. If you click on the MEDLINE Complete link, you'll see a page similar to this. You can browse issues by date on the right side. Or you can click Search within this publication and go to a search screen for this publication only. You can enter search terms to find something of interest.
5. If you encounter a PDF icon when you find a citation you're interested in, the full-text article is available.
6. But if you encounter the Full-Text Finder icon instead of a PDF icon, that means the full-text isn't immediately available. But don't despair. Click Full-Text Finder and you can easily place an ILL (Interlibrary Loan) request for the article. The Library will obtain a copy for you and send it to you. For more about how easy it is to place an ILL request, watch our ILL Tutorial.
